We have always tipped the pizza delivery person $5-believe me they do remember you-we used to have delivery guys fight over who was delivering to us.

There are so many people that should be tipped that no one thinks of. Two that come to mind are the airport shuttle driver (they handle your baggage), the hotel maid, a tour guide.

I am a tipper....but as for Pizza?? Before the company started adding the delivery charge, you would have gotten $5.00 but now you'd probably get $3 maybe $4.
Usually for pizza tho, I call in my order to a local place on my way home and pick it up.
Regular restaurants...20% goes down from there depending on service.

Dominos added a surcharge to the price of their pizzas to compensate the drivers. So now I should tip them on top of this? We may give them a dollar or two maybe a little more if the weather is horrific but 5.00 no way.
I should also add that when we go out to restaurants my husband will go crazy with the tipping for good service. It is all about the level of service. If we have a lousy waiter or waitress then the amount goes down. We very rarely go out or order pizza anyway. I have a large family and cannot afford to this very often anyway.

I tip about 20% on delivery chinese or pizza. Usually comes to between $4 and $5 depending on how much we order. The chinese delivery is super fast now!

People like that are jerks. They'll always be jerks.
Frankly, I think it's karma and that weenies like that get it back.
I generally give decent tips but I'm generally not going to grossly over tip too often to "make up" for the scumbags out there. Besides, I'm sure that on occasion the delivery folks etc. get some measure of revenge....karma and all.

I tip between 15%-25% at restaurants, usually 18-25%, depending on level of service. For a pizza, I usually tip about $4. I agree on tipping people that handle bags. Honestly that amount depends on how much cash I have in my pocket, but I aim for $1-$2 per bag.

Mind you I don't hold anything against the wait staff that is beyond their control (like a slow kitchen).
|
Bad service from the kitchen is a lot of times due to the poor relationship the server has with the cook staff. Of course you need to look around to see if it's everyone or just your section that's having to wait.

Depends on the service. Service not being affected by the kitchen, etc. 20% is a minimum for us. Ignore me, walk by more than twice without checking on me (unless it's really busy), bring the wrong food, forget the drink I ordered, tip goes down. Do all these correctly with a smile, tip goes up.
I have tipped $10 on a $20 order and it was worth every penny. Most entertaining waitress I have ever met. She should be doing stand up comedy. It wasn't just our table, she had the whole place laughing. She'd make a fortune dealing Blackjack.
