Hubby and I spent Saturday out exploring and stopped for a late lunch at Portillo's in Naperville. First time for me - apparently it is a Chicago area thing. We both had Italian beef sandwiches, me with fries and he with onion rings. It was good - don't see the big deal though. My homemade is just as good!!!!
Sunday will be leftover pot roast with potatoes and carrots from Friday night's supper. Hubby will probably also have angel food cake with strawberries and cool whip for dessert.
I am going to try and find time to make ham and scalloped potatoes. I might actually use a can of mushroom soup instead if bothering making a white sauce. We have church, then hurry home and fix a little breakfast, then back again, for our mother/daughter annual Sunday tea. I worked getting the food ready all yesterday afternoon and now will work getting it set out. I just hope I can do the scalloped pots as well. Only other thing we will have is a green salad.
We are grilling burgers in the afternoon to get all the hamburger used up that I have AND I am also making pasta to sit in the fridge over night and I'm making chili to sit in the fridge overnight so I can mix it with the pasta on Monday or Tuesday AND I'm making taco meat for hard shell or soft shell tacos or taco salad with all the other things that go with tacos. After that I'm probably not cooking for a few days.
I will likely have a Totino's cheese pizza! They have plenty of cheese on them and I only just discovered that. I've been buying the ones with toppings and then you don't get near as much cheese. Now I am happier! Think I'll buy me some oregano!
