I believe she used a really thick round steak. Not sure exactly what cut. Surprised me as normally a 1/2" or so thickness would be the norm. Actually, it wound up pretty tender cooked in a very large covered fry pan. Your method and use sounds good to me.

Tonight we have pickled herring with ,,Bratkartoffeln'' (pan roasted potatoes in spices) , a green salad and a chilled beer.
For dessert fresh cut Mangoes.

My brother is in town so I made one of our favorite dishes growing up, Chicken Lasagna. I made the low fat version however

Thick cut bone in pork chops (1.25 inches thick, at least - we'll have leftovers)
Fresh green beans
Red potatoes

Haven't decided how to cook or season any of this stuff yet. Suggestions?

I had planned on making tacos but then realized I have a partial head of cauliflower that absolutely needs to be used, so I decided to have grilled, stuffed sirloin patties, mashed cauliflower and a green salad. The tacos will wait til next week.
