had dinner at a friend's house who got a big new smoker for Father's Day. Ribs (Memphis and SC styles), beer-butt chicken, home-cured bacon from the smoker, then cucumber salad, fruit salad, pasta salad, potato salad, baked beans, and strawberries on sponge cake with whipped cream for dessert.
Grilled tonight for the Old Man..Kept it simple with Angus burgers, Kayem natural casing dogs and sweet/hot sausages with peppers/onions..Sides of Onion chip and dip and potato salad (vinegar style) \
Finished off with coffee and a Boston Cream Pie...
Tonight I will bake us spicy chicken breast and than we all have a choice to put on our spinach tortilla that I made these following options..lettuce,tomato slices, sliced pickles, onion rings,pepper slices,chilies,cucumber,olives,mushrooms,cheese and a home made zesty spicy barbecue sauce or sour creme or mustard. With it we will have a large pitcher of sour lemon/lime water.
For dessert papaya and pine apple slices.
Left overs from last night. I thought we would have more left over meat, but guess the crowd enjoyed what we had cause there isn't much left.. It will be enough. I am also going to grill a couple of ears of corn, before they get too old and tough.
The CKBW will be home tonight so I get a home cooked meal. Thinking pan fried haddock, grits with tomato gravy, and home grown mustard greens from the freezer.
I'm marinating a round steak in an onion soup, lime, and spices marinade, meant for fajitas. Since I am not a fan of onions or peppers, I will probably just grill it and serve it with roasted potatoes, and a veg.
