Other than the obvious, which is locally grown fruit and vegetables, I've come across stands that sell honey, nuts, eggs, cheese, dried fruit even beer and wine. What are your favorite items to buy from a fruit stand?

Very small rocks...um...WITCHES!!!!

Sorry, I was just watching some Monty Python. I buy the usual fruits but I have purchased boiled peanuts (I'm in Dixie), home-made divinity, honey, pickled everything, and smoked ham hocks from "fruit stands."

Generally I buy nothing but fruit. I might buy salad dressings, I have seen them and I might buy nuts. For the most part, fruit and veggie stands are exactly that, so why buy anything else?

Because we grow most of our vegetable at home, I only like to buy honey and eggs, blueberries, strawberries, pickles for making my own dill pickles, peaches and apples. That is if we are not able to pick our own from a local farm. In winter we have a place where we buy our fresh honey and the eggs.

Ours sell fresh local pork and beef along with this little old lady who makes the most divine natural soaps. I also buy their local honey for allergies.

Alot of fruit stands will sell specialty products. OP was wondering what can you get.

I forgot that mine also sells baby chicks and gourds. I often wondered what you would use gourds for.

Spinach, kale, tomatoes, peaches, beets, Fresh mozzarella that comes from an Italian market in Brooklyn NY, he comes to the farmers market by me every year plus he has homemade sauces, focaccia, grated cheese and fresh pastas. 3 medium sized mozzarella balls for $11 is a good deal or you can get three 8 oz. containers of fresh grated pecorino Romano for $11.He also has Italian bread stuffed with prosciutto or stuffed with black oil cured olives. We also have the pickle guy with a variety of freshly made pickles, Garlic, dill, honey mustard, spicy, pickled hot peppers, homemade kraut, pickled pearl onions.
