I find this distinction has little value outside of television tropes, especially in an era of (paradoxically) universal/wide spread unhealthy eating and health consciousness.

"Chicks don't like it when you call them 'broads,'" Unknown.

My mother in law likes her food somewhere between "lava" and "please God make it stop." I think she has three working taste buds left in her mouth, and the only thing she can taste anymore is capsaicin

We have "Flakes" in Texas but they're all up around Austin. LOL! We all love Slim Jim's, beef jerky, dry smoked sausage, Corn nuts, peanuts, pecans. Women, men, kids and the dog all like them.

As compared to men. women eat more food. Women get become more fatty due to our over-eating habit. Sometimes, women's suffer from obesity issues, this is also reason women's look fatty.

DH and I have had Slim Jim's in the past but it's not really something we stock in the house nor are corn nuts.
Some particular potato chips maybe. I like some of the tortilla chips with lime and he likes some of the spicier ones, maybe with jalapeño. However, I do like those jalapeño poppers (with cheese) that you bake first. I'll go for the salsa and tortilla chips. Sometimes I like the dark chocolate (candy or ice cream). I have either Activia or Dannon Greek yogurt most often in my lunch bag during workdays but not so much on weekends.
Glass of wine and some cheese maybe on weekends. Been trying to find the Activia Greek yogurt at my grocery store, coming up empty-handed there, so far. I like the heart healthy mixed nuts that Target sells.
Also like the Marcona Almonds that Costco sells and the Macadamia nuts but don't get them as often because of the cost. Also like the unsalted Brazil nuts that I've been able to find at Walmart but I usually snack on those during the week - at work.

We don't normally do snacking during the week or even sometimes on the weekend unless we're having guests. DH is satisfied most often just drinking his glass of beer without getting a snack to go with it.
Every once in a while though he'll bring out the cheese and crackers and I'll munch on some of that too.

Beef jerky and corn nuts make for good roadtrip food.

I don't like Cadbury Flake. Too messy (little chocolate shards going everywhere and melting on your clothes) and it tastes chalkier than their other chocolate.

Some of you dudes need to meet more interesting women. Spicy Latinas

While my wife would eat that chocolate bar she also eats super hot spicy food and beef jerky. Not to mention drinking beer of all types. Oh yeah she loves to fish, hunt and shoot as well as all my daughters.

I think that distinction only exists in a PR Agency's world. Because in real life, there is no distinction. My girls love slim jim and beef jerky. My husband can't handle the heat of the hotter peppers. In fact, I met more men that can't handle the heat than women personally.

The only thing I would think that might be common is that most men I know don't like fussy dainty foods. But then again neither do I.
