Yes, and it's very simple. The fuzzy logic models can even adjust their program appropriately if you're somewhat sloppy with your measurements.
AHHHH... I'm assuming I just pour 2 cups water per 1 cup rice, close it, press a button, then it will turn off on its own?

Start simple. I suggest you begin with fresh pasta sauce from the supermarket cooler that you will only have to heat up, and cooking the pasta. Getting those coordinated... serve with a nice salad... will possibly be a little more challenging than you might expect... and then if you do that, it'll give you some momentum and confidence. Then you can step up to making sauce from scratch.
That is exactly what I will do. I'm going to stop by Sears or Walmart for a good "expensive" one. See how it goes. Off to Whole Foods as well. I love that place... and now I can cook. Awesome.

That's the general idea. Yep. The proportions might be slightly different for different kinds of rice... brown rice requires a bit more water, for example... but that's about all there is to it.

Awesome is right. I'm glad we could help you get a start. I love it when someone gets turned on to cooking!
