I saw that Denny's has a Thanksgiving plate. Anybody tried it or know if it's good?

I'd probably hit that at about 2-3am after a night of fun.

I once had Christmas dinner at Denny's...my then-boyfriend's dad was in the process of figuring out how to go about divorcing his second wife, and fled the house in order to get away from her, taking his sons and, by extension, me, with him. It was a real picnic. It was the first of many times that I fervently wished that we were on a "my famiily's turn for holiday hosting" leg of the rotation.

My first Thanksgiving at university, I was thousands of miles from home and living in dorms so I had Thanksgiving dinner at the only place open, Dunkin Donuts. A Turkey sandwich on a croissant.

It was a spectacular experience, unreplicable. Wallow in your jealousy.

If you're not cooking or going to someone's house, upsadaisy, but you want to celebrate, then you should go for it. I hope that it's delicious. Happy Thanksgiving!

I have eaten there for Thanksgiving as my second meal. Used to , the big day was at my Dad's with his side of my family, and then I needed to go eat with my Mom. Used to, it seems that was the only place open. There are many more choices now. Denny's is frankly depressing, and I doubt that the TG plate is very good. I didn't mind it then, it was time with my Mom - I certainly didn't want to leave her out of TG! And cooking for two? After half the day at my Dad's already? But she was super happy when more places started being open for a real TG meal.

OP, don't you have a grocery somewhere that has dinner to go? I would really explore any other option than going to a place like Denny's.
Yeah, on my own I'd go pick something up from somewhere else. If OP doesn't feel comfortable dining alone at a nicer place.

This brought back memories of when I was 19 years old and hitch hiking across the U.S and had a can of Dinty Moore stew for my Thanksgiving dinner.
Right out of the can at room temperature and it tasted great because I was hungry and thankful that I had something to eat.

SO and I are miles away from family. Our church friends after 10 years here have never invited us over so we go to a local restaurant with a Thanksgiving special. Not Denny's, but we do go for nice since it's a special day.

I know a family that always goes to a homeless shelter to serve needy families Thanksgiving dinner, and then sitting down and joining them. Now that's my idea of really doing it in style.
