Ina Garten. Every recipe that I have tried of hers has turned out great. Since I spend Saturday morning watching the Food Network cooking shows, I would say that Trisha Yearwood is another one who I would enjoy cooking with. She seems very down to earth and a lot of fun. Again, when I have tried some of her recipes, they always turn out great.
Yes, I too love Ina, but it seems I have seen every one of her programs. Every time I turn her on, it is something I have seen. I am sure Food network knows what they are doing, but it sure would be better if they could gather some new ideas, using our favorite chefs.
I would choose Mario Batali and ask him to prepare something with fish and shellfish, probably cioppino. I think he's a great cook who's laid back, very witty, and highly entertaining. When he was on The Chew, he gave a video tour of his kitchen. Check out the string dispensers.

Oh! OH! I choose him too! But I don't want a cooking lesson, blah blah blah. I just want to smooch him for a few hours. I love his giggle. And, um, his lips.
ETA: Aw, crap. I just read that he's married. I hope that his wife won't mind.
It's probably fudging the rules a bit, because he never had an actual cooking show to my knowledge, but has had several food and cooking related show and is a frequent guest judge on cooking contests. That would be, of course, Anthony Bourdain. Love him, his books and his shows. He became one of my heroes when he wrote
"Kitchen Confidential". And I actually met him once here in Portland when he was here for a book signing. He was a smoker then so we actually stepped outside and shared a smoke break!
I watch The Chew almost every day and I while I like looking at Michael Symon, I cannot stand to hear him laugh. I know that he is a happy guy, but that laugh makes me crazy.
I do understand that Clinton Kelly's recipes are excellent. I made Carla's chocolate crinkle cookies last week--good but too chocolatey.
i'd have to go with,,,i cant remember her name,,but quite thin and very "healthy" ..italian name i think,,
everything ive tried of hers,,has been great!
And, by the way, even though Michael Symon's wife *might* let me smooch him for a couple of hours, your wife would *not* let you have delights -- afternoon or otherwise -- with that booby-monster. I know this.
