I haven't gone a week without eating per se, but I'm in what I hope is the final bit of a terrible bug that's been going around (even the CDC took note), and as soon as I get the all clear from the doctor, I'm either going to Longhorn or Ginza, my local Japanese joint, and going all out.
Had broken jaw once. They had wired my jaw shut for 5 weeks. After that they used various rubber bands until it healed. Lost almost 30 lbs living on strained broth & tea. They gave me a form of liquid vitamin that you mixed with water. If only I would of made the connection to Vitamin Water. I would be rich. Granted, this was 30+ years ago and I’m sure treatment has changed.
Anyway, first meal made me sick, not physically but very nauseous. Had to gradually work up to solid food over a period of a week. After a week of so was back on top and went to place called Pinnacle Peak in San Dimas California. At the time, they were the Gold Standard of Steaks outside of Texas.

In your situation, I'd go with Ginza and start slow. You can always order something more if you're still hungry, but I think a lot of beef right now would be too rough on your system.
I'd go to Ginza and order the Tempura Udon... and eat light. The broth and noodles especially will be easy on on your system... which is what you really want after a long abstinence from food, no matter what the cause. Take half of it home for later.

I'd probably go to Blimpies and get a large sub sandwich.
i dont think id be going to a restaurant on my first meal,,it may go right thru you...
i like the idea of having something ...easy at first....like soup ..
This is exactly what I was thinking. You need to get your stomach used to food again before you eat anything heavy or greasy.
When you've got a stomach flu or food poisoning, it disrupts the good bacteria colonies that live in your gut, and sometimes you can't tolerate some foods until your body has a chance to replenish those bacteria.
