This is a fun video in fast speed showing the art of watermelon carving. I was fortunate enough to see it in person when I traveled to Vietnam to adopt our two youngest children. It takes special tools plus a great deal of talent, an artistic eye and a light touch to say noting of hours of practice. But the results are beautiful.
Awesome demonstration. I have always admired people that could carve fruits. I have been on several cruises where the carved fruit was spectacular. No way I could do something like that.

A better question (at least if posed to me) is "Watermelon carving: How many fingers -- and possibly eyes -- do you think you would lose?"
One of my very good friends in CT adopted two of the most beautiful -- inside and out -- babies from Vietnam 13 years ago. She's very active in the Catalyst program and goes annually to help them (build a school, teach them, etc...). It's a wonderful program. Do you know of it, NK?
Yes Dawn, they do wonderful work as do many other groups trying to help the orphanages which are really suffering since VN was closed to American adoptions right after I got home with my two girls. There is some talk of them opening up again but I doubt it will happen any time soon.
