Education is important to get low income folks used to the idea of better diets. Maybe this program will work.

I would prescribe cutting down the size of the average American meal which is enormous by European standards.

Should have been done years ago. Seems like common sense lifestyle approaches take years before the medical docs use them. Dinosaurs.

Makes sense to me. We just started eating a lot more fruit and veggies, and our extra grocery cost is about a dollar a day per person, so it does seem like the program might help people who can't afford fruit and veggies.

The WIC program here used to give farmer's market vouchers, about ten years ago. It was very difficult to find an actual farmer's market to use the vouchers at though. Hopefully the NYC program is more accessible to people.
