In a few minutes, I'll be headed to Norma's Café for some CFS (that's chicken-fried steak). My likely sides are scrambled eggs, hash browns, and either toast or biscuits (leaning towards biscuits).

And their coffee (Community).

Breakfast burrito-bought it from a specialty grocery store yesterday-turkey, egg whites, black beans, cheese with onions on a spinich tortilla. I give it a thumbs up. It's huge so I'll eat the rest tomorrow.

Rhubarb pastries on the deck for a special Saturday morning treat.

We have a lovely patch of rhubarb and it's been on my bucket list for a long time to make something out of them with puff pastry. These were lightly filled with a mixture of finely minced rhubarb, orange peel zest, egg, sugar and cream cheese. The sugar glazed crust was puffy and golden brown and they just screamed, "One more!"

But no. The rest we will dole out to the neighbors or we'll have to walk a couple of extra miles this weekend. Sigh.
