I know, they are healthy and all, but I don't really care for them. I cannot say that they taste bad, but somehow I always prefer to buy something else.
I am growing broccoli in my garden and thanks to a neighbor learned of the absolutely wonderful bounty that the plant provides. Most people think of the florets but few know of the leaves. Sauteed, steamed, in a salad or cooked like collard greens.
Not only the florets and leaves, but the stalks too. Slice off the woody outer layer and what is left is very tender, flavorful slices.
I know - absolutely delicious! Great for soups or just as-is.
