It always cracks me up. Had a waiter ask me what water I wanted when I asked for water in a 4 star restaurant. Should've seen his face when I said, "Tap." He rattled off about 5 or so different kinds/versions of water.

People don't know how good they got it.

Yep. I hear ya rain. Took me a long time to get your jokes. Most everyone understands, eh?

I went to a Steakhouse with some of my coworkers when we were traveling for work. We all four ordered water, and bottles of Dasani were served to us. One of my coworkers told the server that he just wanted regular water, and she said that they didn't have regular water.

I guess they ran Dasani through their dishwasher!

Only in England, where I was asked if I wanted "fizzy" or "still."

Yes--not at all uncommon at fine restaurants. But it's usually "sparkling" or "still". I neither balk at the question nor question the cost.

I assume they charged you for the water. I wouldn't eat at a expensive restaurant that didn't give water free. That's a little ridiculous.

Or in Spain where it's "with gas" or "without gas."
