If you had once choice from the Chinese buffet bar, along with the the choice for rice and soup... What would you choose?
Mussels, fried rice and hot and sour soup, here. I'm a sucker for mussels. I found them at the local asian/Latino market the other day. Made me a sauce of oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, and a few cloves of fresh minced garlic; then thickened it with some corn starch. I cooked the mussels in hat for about 5 minutes. Then I tore them out of the shells and then cooked some shredded veggies in the sauce. Poured it all together, gave it a mix over the burner. Ate them with the sauce over some rice.
Anything spicy hot. I am partial to mongolian beef. If the restaurant cooks it the way I like it then I usually will like just about any of their other dishes.
Hot and sour soup and sizzling rice soup are my go to favs.
Dang! Someone is going to a pretty nice buffet if they're serving green-lipped mussels. I have NEVER seen them at any Chinese buffet I've ever gone to.
If I was at such a buffet it would be green-lipped mussels, repeat, another Tsing Tao, more green-lipped mussels . . . Check please.

All of our Chinese buffets here serve Green-Lipped mussels, crab legs, crayfish (mud bugs), and one of them serves frog legs.
Hot and sour soup (could actually use some right now) and sesame chicken.
