No affiliation and no benefit to me, I'm just recommending an extremely good product.

OXO Good Grips Salad Dressing Shaker.

The top screws off so it is easy to add ingredients. Then you screw the top back on and can give it a really good shake without it leaking. To pour, there is a little toggle on top, You push that aside and you can pour the dressing in a controlled flow.

Very nice. Good size to hold and handle. Dishwasher safe (I haven't put mine into the dishwasher yet).

My families favorite oil and vinegar dressing, works wonderfully in this shaker:

Balsamic Dressing

1/4 C balsamic vinegar
2 t dark brown sugar
1 T finely chopped garlic
1/2 t salt
1/2 t freshly ground black pepper
3/4 C olive oil

Yes, that is a lot of garlic and the amount is right, a full Tablespoon. The dressing is best if you allow time for the garlic and seasonings to infuse the vinegar with flavor.

Fresh garlic in oil is one of those things to be cautious with, so store in the fridge and take it out just early enough for the olive oil to liquefy.

Thanks for the recipe, I'm into making my own salad dressing lately, and I LOVE balsamic vinegar! I have a similar recipe, but there's no brown sugar, and a LOT of Italian herbs. It doesn't look too good, but it sure tastes great!!

Mason Jar works for me but I'm sure yours is more attractive.

Also, there is a Pampered Chef salad dressing maker with the measurements on the container for several different dressings. If you ever get cornered into going to a Pampered chef party, you could buy this and you'll like it.

Oxo does put out some of the best kitchen gadgets. However, Tupperware still the best when it comes to this one. We have five or six. Some are just for salad dressings.

I actually have two of those. One I got free for having a party, and the other was given to me by my mom. They work great! Not only do they have the measurements, but a plastic coil whisk through the lid. You do have to keep it upright, as it does not have a sealing lid. Also works for fun things like chocolate milk.

I've given up on the commercial ones - not dishwasher safe/is dishwasher safe, but it leaks because you put it in the dishwasher , retains odors, and/or we lose the lid within two months!!

My final and best solution is recycling the jars my pickles, pepperoncinis, and olives come in. They wash squeaky clean, and when...not if... I lose the lid, I've probably finished another couple jars of something.
