We always used Kellogg's Croutettes for Thanksgiving/Christmas dressing, and the seasoning was perfect. A few years before it was discontinued, I noticed that it would show up in a special display around holiday time, and knew I had to pick it up, as it would sell out quickly.

Luckily, I'd written down the exact amounts of everything I used with the croutettes, but getting the perfectly-seasoned (to my liking, anyway) croutons was an effort. Many of them were good, but just not the same. After a few years, I finally found one that's similar enough to do the trick, but I still miss the old standby.

Have you tended to use your tried-and-true recipe for stuffing, or do you change from year to year?

My mom has been doing the same stuffing recipe for 30 years. I have never heard of Kellogg's Crouttes. We always use the Pepperidge farm cubes.

Smile Delahanty-stuffing

Delahanty I know exactly how you feel. I am 45 years old and for me I always associate Kellogg's with thanksgiving. It is tradition to use Kellogg's stuffing mix in our house for thanksgiving and now that it is discontinued these last 5 years it is hard, for Kellogg's stuffing is a must. I am a stuffing person. Trying to find a stuffing that can stand up and compare to kellogs is a hard road traveled. In the past I used by kellogs stuffing in bags of 10 - 12 at a timetable thru out the year. I used to make it with little game hens, chicken, and once with pork chops. Since the discontinuance of Kellogg's stuffing mix I don't buy any stuffing product at all. I have not found a brand to measure up. So if anyone out there has found a stuffing to measure up to or come even close to Kellogg's stuffing please let this stuffing addict in on the name brand. Having serious withdrawals here. Thank you.

THE WORST FIGHT my husband and I ever had was over the making of Thanksgiving stuffing...almost divorced over it...I let him make it the way he wants...with sausage...
