I eat almonds or cashews everyday...

after eating all these nuts I now understand why they call a peanut butter "jiffy"
it doesn't take long to go right thru you

I wonder if it's some other underlying factor

I eat unsalted almonds, cashews, and walnuts daily. I refrain from salted, fried snacks, such as potato chips. Love them, but don't like the oil.

and I don't care about the oil. I just think, for the occasional time we eat them, the oil really isn't that bad. I do like oven roasted chips but am not sure they are any better and I don't mind dry roasted peanuts. The rest of the nuts we eat, I want prepared the right way.

I wish I had your will power though.

To have nuts in the diet and still control serving size, my family uses them on green salads and to top curry and Chinese stir fry.

I don't have enough self control to eat 6 nuts as a snack. I want a huge double handful.

I don't have to have a double handful, but one and I have pretty big hands. Yes, we use nuts in green salad and lots of other dishes. In fact tonight I will use them along with beets in our salad.

1 ounce of almonds is about 23 whole almonds. This has 6 carbs with 3.5 g of fiber, so a net 2.5 g of carbs.

I count out 20 raw almonds about every other day or so. They are my crunchy healthy snack.

Great! Pass the pralines, peanut brittle, turtles, and chocolate-covered macadamia nuts!
