Not sure this is the right forum but...a recent thread elsewhere got me thinking.
A new place opened up not too far from me (it's the second location of a successful restaurant about 20 miles away) that serves good food and drink. Although I don't like the word, it's a gastropub.
They have a dress code for men, which is highly unusual in my area. There are a couple things in the code that could easily be construed as controversial as they basically name three or four brands of clothing that are not allowed.
(This is not a race or orientation issue...)
Predictably, there's a good sized backlash. Also predictably, the restaurant is packed.
Would such a code influence your decision to patronize a place?
if i wore those brands it would, if i didnt (and i dont wear any branding on anything i own) then i wouldnt mind going
there are plenty of places with dress codes, like strip clubs or higher end clubs...its doesnt bother me. people that wear those baseball hats with the stickers might care, but i sure as hell dont

I don't know Affliction, but TapOut is like MMA stuff? Like UnderArmour? I dunno, sounds like they're trying to have an image and keep douchebags out. I'm ok with that.
hooters has always had a good dress code,,,its marketing...
i read where one restaurant requires everyone to be silent,,, to enjoy the food,,
it would be decent that no one is on a phone,,
its a marketing ploy,,
