[quote=weezycom;33360400]I've got a yellow squash & chorizo gratin in the oven. Haven't made one of these in a couple of months and dang it smells so good! Folks need to get home so we can sit down to dinner.[/]

That sounds really good and have to spread more reps but would love to try it.

Picked up a fried chicken breast from the deli. I'll have that with some steamed broccoli leaves and corn.

I bought my first bottle of Sriracha today to go with the chicken breast. I need a good hot sauce to replace the one that is no longer made. I hope this will be a winner.

Tonight we have whipped yam curry, chapatis, plain yogurt, lassi and for dessert "Kheer"..milk rice with a sprinkle of cinnamon and later 2 chocolate covered dates.

First I cook the diced yams, then I blend them til they are literally whipped. Meanwhile in a pot I fry in olive oil an onion dark brown, add ginger/garlic,green little chilies, than turmeric, coriander powder, curry powder, chili powder, tomato paste and finally the whipped yam and fresh cilantro/coriander and salt. I let it slow cook on the lowest heat possible, mixing it at times. After 15 minutes I shut the element off.

For the rice pudding I pour milk in a slow cooker (I have one only for sweets),add sugar and rice and let cook on its on,maybe stirring 3 times til it is done. Last I add some roasted almonds and sometimes golden raisins and we sprinkle some cinnamon usually in our bowls. With left overs I let it get cold and than I add mashed strawberries, vanilla sugar and Schnapps. Or we eat it just with any compote.
