My parents are our dinner guests tonight so I wanted something special for them (and also to take the sting out of their four-day visit for my husband!). We are having a crown roast of pork with a filling of shrimp and creamy grits, wheat rolls, peas and carrots in a butter/wine sauce and apple cobbler with whipped cream for dessert. Beer for the fellas and lots of wine for me and my mom.

For those asking, the farmhouse pie I had is really a home made dish I think, we just call it that

It is mince spiced with paprika, covered with a cheese and onion sauce and cooked in the oven until crisp.. it is gorgeous!

I am guessing that "mince" is the same as ground beef. Is that at least right?
