Last night we enjoyed 30 cent meatball subs, 30 cent fries, and 30 cent shots of Canadian whiskey. Younger daughter (who is also a member) doesn't like whiskey - she had 30 cent watermelon schnapps.

Since it's amateur night, we're not about to go out driving around. Plus it's snowing and the low is forecast to be below zero. Drunk AND icy roads. No thank you! SO, I am grilling bone in rib eye steaks, with baked potatoes, bbq beans, a Caesar salad and rum and coke. Dessert with be peach cobbler and vanilla bean ice cream.

We are hosting four other couples tonight and since I still have to be at the office today, I wanted an easy menu for the party:

baked oysters in cognac sauce
crab cakes with creole mustard
black eye peas and rice
garlic shrimp in a bread bowl

Our guests are bringing the champagne and I'm making kiwi lemonade spritzers (with lots of gin). We are having beignets topped with praline sauce and ice cream for dessert.

I wish all of you a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!

I have Mexican Lasagna in the oven right now to eat while watching the Fiesta Bowl. I'll also have some delicious margaritas.

Go Broncos!
