If I see a piece of hair in my food, I can't finish it because other gross thoughts about the food start creeping into my head. It's a psychological thing, I guess. With that being said, I understand it happens and it wouldn't necessarily stop me from going to that particular restaurant again.
And to the person that asked bug over hair, it depends.
One time I was serving and there was a salad bug on chef's salad I served. It was a green caterpillar thing.................yes I would take that any day over that nasty black hair in my nachos.......any day all day.
Speaking of hair - I guess cat fur counts. I have 2 long-haired cats and sometimes ... Here's the funny thing, I find that less disgusting than if my own hair is found.
Lolol! ^this! We have 2 dogs & cats--we joke that we've ingested so much hair over the years our insides are coated with it!
Surprised we haven't coughed up hair balls! That stuff is insidious!

I worked in a restaurant for years that always used organic, local produce including salad greens and the kitchen staff was very careful about washing the greens but every once in a while a small aphid or worm would survive the cleaning and show up at a guest's table. Most folks, logically, (it is after all proof of no pesticides) didn't make a big deal, some sent it back (of course, no questions asked we complied and apologized), most just put in on the side but it was always humorous to witness the spectacle of the few drama queens who thought they were going to die!
If people only knew what is allowed in all the food that we eat by the FDA (insect parts etc...) some would never eat again apparently.
A hair would gross me out but it wouldn't keep me from ever going to the restaurant again if other aspects to it were clean and on the up and up.
Not too much bothers me so much that's I'd never go back if the food was good. I've found all sorts of stuff in my food over the years from bugs to hair to plastic to a small metal screw that actually broke my tooth. Packaged foods are not exempt from this either. And cat hair, yup...a condiment.
