Assuming you use it a lot would you buy another one? Yes, most definitely. Been looking for a new one.
Did it justify the cost? Yes
What brand is yours? Kenmore
Mine is almost 9 years old. It has a few quirks but it still works. I like how big it is. I can fit 4 pieces of bread in it, or a small baking pan/dish. I keep a stoneware brownie pan in there that works great for cooking tater tots, chicken patties, fish sticks, garlic bread, biscuits & reheating pizza.
I hate that all (at least I think all) toaster ovens have timers on them. Mine has a rotary timer which I hate. I might look into the digital ones. Don't need/want convection cooking. To me, that's just one more thing that can break or go out.
Convection I only use for quicker browning/crisping and monitor it closely to prevent burns.
OH- I forgot wings on my list - one of the most common items I nuke first til unfrozen and hot, then convection for a bit then broil because I like crispy skin; you can make em look just like they came off a BBQ.
Re: too much real estate my toaster oven sits up high on a plastic rack in dining room so it takes up no counter space.
I have a Bravetti toaster oven. I love it, and couldn't live without a toaster oven. I use it for everything from toast to tuna melts to pierogies to pizza to imperial rolls to calamari to Coquilles St Jacques.
We have a convection oven and a conventional oven so the toaster oven was set free on the side of the road in front of our house. It must have been happy because it had wandered-off by the next morning.
I use mine nearly every day and a few days ago baked fresh bread in it, then scones, then broiled a steak.
I prefer the toaster much more than the microwave that I barely use that cost 4 times the amount of the toaster oven.
We have a bread toaster/toaster oven combo. I forgot the brand - it might be Hamilton beach. It's pretty good - I use the toaster every morning for DD's toast. The toaster oven part we use from time to time, mainly to crisp up something leftover such as pizza or egg rolls or some kind of appetizer I'm making. I probably won't get anything new until that thing dies. I do like the option of using the toaster oven when I just don't feel like using the big oven.
I love mine. It's a cheapo model but does just fine for what we use it for:
for reheating fried foods and pizza, it's wonderful
for toasting, it's slower than a regular toaster but does 4 slices at a time
for making grilled cheese/ham sandwiches, much healthier without needing to fry it in a pan
I use mine everyday for toasting bread, bagels, muffins, pizza, grilled cheese, etc. I warm up small servings of food in it--things that are too small for the regular oven. I will definitely buy another one once this one stops working.
Toaster ovens are more versatile than regular toasters, and the better way to go as far as I'm concerned.
