I am addicted to soda...at the point I have 2-3 glasses a day. I know that stuff is very unhealthy...I only drink water when I see it. Any help on drinking soda like once a few days??

Substitute a sparkling mineral water, like Perrier, and flavor it with a bit of lemon or lime. You can also purchase sparkling mineral waters scented with lemon and lime. You get the satisfying throat-burn without the phosphoric acid and calories.

How to stop a soda addiction? Stop drinking it. I promise you, you won't experience physical withdrawal symptoms like sudden puking and cold sweats and delerium tremens. Try quitting an actual addiction, and then get back to us and tell us how hard it was to quit drinking soda.

I tried...but I get a craving. I need something that is healthier that tastes like soda.

If you have a true addiction then the health or psychology forums would be a better fit.

Otherwise, just suck it up and substitute water or juice. It won't be painless I guess but with a little willpower you can quit.

What is it specifically about the soda that you like?

I like carbonated drinks. Maybe it's weird, but I do. Substitute ginger ale or club soda?

If it's the taste, maybe try sports drinks instead. Or the "enhanced" waters out there.

I'm not a huge fan of plain water, but I find that it's more palatable when it's ice-cold. You just need to acclimate yourself to drinking water instead of soda, until it becomes a habit. I've had to switch from coffee to green tea, and after a while, I forget that I used to drink coffee by the pot.

I got a Sodastream, and use it constantly to make sparkling water. I never buy soda, and don't drink it at all. I don't even like sweet things. But I do like fizz.

wean off it slowly...with tonic water, sparkling soda, etc,

watch the youtube videos of soda, that takes off rust, etc.

i drank alot of regular pepsi growing up-loved it,,,,then just stopped, and if i had a craving, i tried diet pepsi,,,which i started to like, so i backed off on that-

here's another thing to do- bring water to work and places you's want a soda,,,and think of the money you are saving drinking that water, also think that you arent drinking soda that will burn your insides like it will take rust off.

I've been drinking 2 liters a day for just about two years now.

I had an easier time getting away from cigarettes than coca cola. I feel your pain OP, although I really can't add much to help you.

Ditto, get a soda machine like Sodastream. I only put a few squirts of cola syrup much less than what Coke and Pepsi does.

I got my own Co2 canisters that cost $5 to fill for about 2 months of usage.
