Tastes like the sweetest (buttery) chicken you ever had. Kinda like a fresh lobster tail kind of (sweet) delicious.
Not cooked just any way though. Must be battered and deep fried using Shore Lunch Fisherman's Guide batter (the best) to a light golden brown. Even better if it's fried in peanut oil. Then it has that Church's Chicken and Chick-Fil-A melt in your mouth kind of taste.
Once you start, you can't put it down until you are bloated.
I always make either mashed potatoes or kasha varnishkes to go with stuffed peppers, since we love spooning the gravy on top. I seem to always make pasta the first night I make meatballs, even though leftover meatballs may be used for other things, (i.e. meatball parmesan heros). The same with eggplant parmesan, chicken parmesan and chicken alfredo. I always seem to make some type of pasta to go with them the first night.
Everything else I try to vary a bit, so we seldom get bored.
Ham and pineapple
Pork and apples
Steak and baked potato
Spaghetti and garlic bread
Cheeseburger or hot dog and baked beans
I cook dinner for my five grandchildren once a week. No matter what we're having for a main dish, the vegetable is frozen corn. Each time I say excitedly, "Guess what vegetable we're having!" They think it's funny, but then they're young.
Fried chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy
Chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes and gravy
Ham and Au Gratin potatoes
Meatloaf, mac and cheese, green beans
Sweet and sour chicken, shrimp fried rice, egg foo yung and egg rolls (don't make often, because it takes all day, but, dam, it's good!)
(And hubby loved frog legs when he tried them down in Arkansas!)
Hot dog with cole slaw and chili (messy but deeeelicious)
Oatmeal with maple syrup, brown sugar, butter, walnuts and raspberries
Potato chips and cheddar cheese slices
Fried chicken, sweet corn on the cob and homemade biscuits
I like to put a tiny bit of salt on strawberries because it intensifies the flavor of the fruit. There is a snack found in Asian markets called "salted cuttlefish" (I think it's called that) which comes in little strips (salty and sweet almost) - I discovered this snack and I paired it with strawberries (I don't remember how it got started, but maybe I only had those two things to eat) and it's the most delicious combo for a snack. If I didn't have the cuttlefish snack, I sprinkle the salt on strawberries, still good.
