I'm really picky when it comes to scrambled eggs and prefer mine to anyone else's including restaurants. Anything else is fine.

The only food that restaurants prepare better than I do are those which are deep-fried. Consequently, when I go to a restaurant I will usually order something in that category, ostensibly shrimp or chicken tenders.

As I have mentioned many times on this and other forums, I like my food cooked very well. Once in a while I will find someone capable of cooking food to the level of my satisfaction, but that is rare indeed. Rather than being frustrated I simply order something that is difficult to screw up.

I don't think I have any foods that I'll only eat if I prepare them. Not really sure why I would.

Me too esp the bold ones!! Add to that, macaroni salad. I'm reminded of pot luck dinners where you see what's supposed to be potato salad squished tightly into a worn rectangular Tupperware container. Never very appetizing and doesn't make you want to try it but you put some on your plate and then try to make sure no-one sees you as you head back to the kitchen area later to discreetly dispose of it.

Ì'm not following. You would have no problem with the potato salad is it was in a brand new container?

And what's with the wasting of food? If you find sometihing unappetizing, don't put it on your plate.

Sometimes it looks very appetizing, but I take that first bite and find out it's made with Miracle Whip, or has a ton of sweet pickle relish in it, I have a hard time controlling my gag reflex.

hmmmmmmmm

that's how I make mine. Nothing worse than bland-tasting potato salad. Oh and don't forget the paprika on the top for color!

I really only like my (and my moms) macaroni and potato salad. People do weird things with those sometimes. My prep is simple and it always tastes good....like macaroni and potatoes!

Never understood Miracle Whip.
