Cold and sweet foods, or cold drinks. Hot foods are just not that all appealing to me in hot weather. I remember living in Arizona and the summer would come around and heat would suppress my appetite for dense calorie rich foods.

I like ale, especially on a hot day, but I do need to drink something before dinner & I'm not sure I could convince a boss of my absolute need for breakfast and/or lunch cocktails.
One time I placed a bottle of beer in the freezer as it wasn't cold enough & it came out so frosty with small pieces of ice floating through it... sheer heaven. But, I've never been able to figure out how long to leave it in deep freeze to duplicate that very lovely, icy IPA.

I once put a can of soda in the freezer because I wanted it to get cold fast (it wasn't refrigerated and was sitting on the table, I think) so I would be able to enjoy it with a meal, I think. For some reason, I forgot about the soda till the next day, and when I opened the freezer I discovered the can exploded and there was Coke all over. I couldn't understand why that happened. It was a huge mess to clean up and not only did I have to clean the freezer but also the packages of frozen food. I thought I would never hear the end of it after that incident, thankfully it hasn't happened since then, and I don't drink soda too much anymore. I still to this day don't understand why because if it was frozen it wouldn't of exploded that way even if I forgot about it. Let that be a lesson to everyone.

I've never had that happen, but I have left it too long (forgot about it, essentially) & frozen beer began seeping from underneath the cap & the beer, which was a slushy sludge didn't taste good once defrosted. So, I've given up on the beer in the freezer trick & now just frost the glasses, because I'm smart... not like everybody says.
But, that's just me & my sometimes Lucy qualities... I remember being a teen & reading that beer added to shampoo was great protein for the hair. Well, the article forgot to mention flat beer. Oops. I mixed up my beer shampoo in 1/2-dozen empty bottles, shaken not stirred, only to hear many simultaneous loud pops an hour later, from the tops exploding off, then hitting the ceiling, then ricocheting around the bathroom, then the bottles one by one falling over... rinse & repeat x 6. Everyone in the house was horrified & ready to hit the deck when the explosions began.
I'm fairly certain someone just needs to keep me away from the ale.
