But yeah, "sweet tea" served everywhere in the South has never appealed to me.
Same here....I make my ice tea the way my grandmother did. Brewed and steeped in boiling water after cooling adding in a lemon sliced up and an orange sliced up for a nice refreshing pitcher of tea.

I'm not sure where I learned to drink unsweetened tea or coffee because my mom loved her sugar! I do drink my coffee with half and half, but no sugar. Iced tea and hot tea just plain as well.

I also hate nondairy creamer. If there's no actual cream or half and half, I'm drinking my coffee black. I don't like the slick soybean oil texture and flat taste of nondairy creamers.

I drink my coffee with milk, no sugar. Iced tea is unsweetened. Although I like sweets, sweetened coffee and ice tea is disgusting. The sugar ruins the coffee taste, and the sweet tea isn't refreshing at all.

Fine with unsweetened or sweet tea, I like 'em both.

But for some reason, I just can't tolerate black coffee (I used to love it in college some 20+ years ago and drank it often then). These days, I don't even attempt to drink coffee without some milk or cream in it, and I do love sweetener in it as well (splenda or sugar when I'm feeling indulgent).

Usweetened tea always but I like my coffee with a little bit of sweetness and some cream. The only way I like it black is if it is cold.

Default coffee or tea

I'm weird about this stuff. Like you I like coffee and iced tea without any milk or sugar. BUT I put sugar in my hot tea. I sometimes do drink hot tea without sugar but strongly prefer it with sugar. My husband on the other hand likes to load his coffee and tea with sugar and his coffee is really "coffee-milk."

I put a little sugar in my coffee, but no creamer. Iced tea has to be unsweetened. I don't care for sweet tea whether it's hot or cold.

People who use alot of sugar and creamer are usually the ones who are overweight.

The easiest way to save calories where it hurts the least is in beverages. Stay away from soda, alcohol and sugaring your other hot and cold beverages.
