"I just love it when I get milk-to-dark converts," says Kerrin Rousset, as she prepares to lead a small cocoa-hungry crowd through the narrow streets of Zurich's Old Town.
Rousset, who makes a living leading people to the city's finest chocolates, needn't worry too much -- we're already lost to the dark side.
This is (hopefully) a picture of the best chocolate I have ever tasted. In the picture is a chocolate covered orange peel, a square of dark chocolate and a piece of heaven called a hazelnut bomb. The chocolate is from a small shop in Brussels called Laurent Gerbaud that we visited as part of an amazing chocolate tour of Brussels last year.
One interesting note about this shop. All of the chocolate they make has no added sugar.

Between chocolate, great beers, and pommes frites done right I think I need to visit Belgium

I led several friends there last October and had a really great time. We spent several days in Belgium, took a day trip to Aachen then spent the last few days in Amsterdam.
All of us have said we want to go back to Belgium. It is a fun country. We took a chocolate tour in Brussels, drank great beer, went to a genever festival, ate pommes frites with mayo, had a Belgian waffle (with bananas and chocolate), and in general ate like kings.
The Hasselt genever festival is held every year in October and is a fantastic time. We also had genever (Oude Bokma) in Amsterdam and found a bar that specializes in genever.

Oh, I'd recommend Montreal to anyone as a great 'out of country' experience for an American but if you're a motor racing fan the Spa-Francorchamps track in Belgium is legendary and on many fans' bucket lists. I wanted to return to the Canadian GP a few years ago but was a bit shocked when they wanted about $800 RT to fly there from NC, if I was going to Belgium the GP would figure in my plans.

I'm moving to Brussels next month. (I've never been there or even to Europe for that matter ... I'm military and am being relocated there.) I hope the chocolate and the beer is as good as reported. Any other tips on where to get good chocolate?

Damn you to hell and back for posting that picture!
Unless you're going to supply us with some of the featured chocolate, that is just plain mean.
