Fourth, let's be clear on something. I make my salad from scratch; I don't buy prepared bags of leaves but the head, tear off a few leaves, wash them, tear them apart.
.
This thread is hilarious.
Let's be clear, I not only make my salad from scratch, I grow lettuce in my garden and truly make salad "from scratch."
Lol, I guess I never thought that making salad was considered to be "from scratch" like baking a ten layer cake with homemade filling and frosting.

Because it's so morally superior to tear leaves off a head and wash ( but do not spin....that makes the leaves dizxy and they lose their 'healthy vibe stuff' if you do that) than to grab a bag of spring mix!!
"Tupperware" takes up needless space in a back pack and in any event, it would still need to be bagged to prevent leaks. The salad in a baggie is double bagged for that prevention.
I use plain old cheap-o Ziploc or Glad containers for my salads and soups, and have never had a leak when I put the lid on correctly (just wait for the little pop).

Stay tuned for my new thread: Making Toast from Scratch
Do share you dad's toast secrets..we need to be enlightened!
Mom didn't have the patience to melt the butter and sugar/cinnamon mix in the broiler drawer of the c.1960 GE toaster oven. She didn't have the patience for sugar/cinnamon at all ... that was our little breakfast treat with Dad.
