Where I come from, the best eating in the world is Moral Mushrooms.
If not cooked right, they are only second best !!!

When traveling through La. we make it a point to stop at Mulates. It's Cajun food.
The food is so good you cant shut your eyes and just point at something on the menue.
You will love it ! It is that good

We're close enough to Louisiana that we get live crawfish here in the spring. And of course we have What-a-burger.

About the only real Oklahoma original dish I can think of the an onion burger. They are amazing. They take a giant pile of thinly sliced onions, cook them on a griddle until they start to brown, take a hamburger patty and smash it onto the pile of onions and cook until the burger is done. Then dress the burger any way you want.

I had lived here for 5 years before I actually tried one. Never sounded very appealing to me. I just kept hearing onion burgers, onion burgers, onion burgers. I finally gave in and tried one. I was hooked. Now I'm just sorry I missed 5 years of deliciousness.

In Wisconsin, of course, we have Friday Fish Fry. There are some localized specialties as well, like pasties in the southwestern part of the state.
