WTH is tilapia doing on any positive list? Tilapia is swimming tofu. I'd have to say Grouper, Hamachi, or Monkfish for me.

I have to agree with that.

I suppose many people would name salmon, tuna or sturgeon. One of the tastiest fish I've ever eaten was Northern Puffer, but no one would call the little guys the king of anything.

I really like Halibut but its hard to find and expensive when you do find it.
Grouper is also very good.

Can't beat freshly caught perch.

Rainbow trout and Xander are both high up on the list too, along with the humble pickled herring.

Since this wasn't limited to fin-fish I'd have to vote SHRIMP!

Bluefin Tuna would make a strong case. A single bluefin recently nabbed $400K at a key Japanese fish market.

1. Fresh caught wild trout.
2. Fresh caught mahi-mahi.
3. Fresh caught king salmon.
4. Fresh caught yellow fin.
5. Fresh caught sword fish.

You can see the theme here. I've angled for each of the above species then cooked and eaten them with in hours of the catch.
