I love M&Ms and Heath bars too. Also like Butterfingers and Paydays. Also wouldn't turn down a Nestle's Crunch bar. But my favorite of all is the Twix bar.
I have had some excellent American chocolate, but not from the major brands, mostly artisan stuff. It seems the general rule in America that stuff made for the mass market is not as good as small batch stuff.
My favorite mass market chocolate brands are Swiss. Cadbury's is better than Hershey's, but nothing to write home about.
You're not allowed to call it a chocolate bar in Canada. We have different chocolate standards. It's a candy bar.
There's not enough chocolate in it to warrant the name "chocolate bar".
Most candy bars taste too sweet for me and I'm not fond of American chocolate but there are a few I like.
I used to like Heath bars but now they don't taste buttery anymore. Skorr's do so I switched to them.
I bought a bar of very dark chocolate with tart dried cherries in it at Walgreens about a year ago and it was so good I went back for more but they never had them again. I thought it was Green and Black's but I can't find one online.
What I did find online made me very happy, though. Many years ago I bought a Macintosh toffee bar in Canada and it was pure heaven. Never saw them again. But today when I googled I see that Nestles makes them and they have begun to make them again. I'm going to order a box for a Christmas present to myself. Let's hope they haven't begun to scrimp on good ingredients.
I don't think I've met a chocolate bar I didn't like, but if I had to choose I'd probably go for a Moro (very similar to a Mars bar) or a Cadbury Flake
