Ironically, I will eat just about ANY vegetable or fruit, and absolutely love spicy food and put hot sauce on EVERYTHING! However, I don't like anything with olive oil, miracle whip, chicken tenders/fingers, ketchup, gravy, soda, or hard candies. I have a real hang-up with foods that are blended together and prefer them in layers...for instance, I will eat casseroles, but I would prefer something more separate or stacked (yes I will pick apart food like that). I am not a big fan of "sauces" on my food besides hot sauce or soy/teriyaki (i.e. something very thin). What can I say...my picture should be in the dictionary under "picker eater."

love to cook and eat; it shows. I was raised eating all types of foods, nothing went to waste, we ate simple home cooking plus was introduced to some pretty gourmet for kid. This has stayed with me. There are very few foods I will not eat and will try just about anything. his goes for desserts as well; I don't crave them, but I do eat them on some occasions.

When I was a kid I was really picky. I wouldn't eat the crusts on the bread and I wouldn't eat gravy. Also, I didn't like meat. I wouldn't eat eggs. For a long time after I saw my grandfather chop the head off my favorite hen and they ate her for dinner, I couldn't eat chicken.

Now the things I don't like are hot peppers and they will contaminate an entire dish if they're in there. I just can't eat them--they burn and they have no flavor. I won't eat most seafood unless it doesn't look like seafood--I'll eat fish sticks or baked haddock.

I'll never eat rabbit, venison, or duck or any other animal that seems sort of like something that would be a friendly animal or that you might have as a pet.

I don't care for fast food because it's usually too greasy and I mostly like plain ordinary food.

Guess I still am a picky eater.

Generally, I'll try anything once, but I do have preferences and dislikes.

I used to be as a child but when I hit my teen years I started changing my ways and now I'm usually up for trying something new especially if I am traveling in a foreign country and want to experience the local food. As a child I never touched raw tomatoes but I would always eat them in pasta sauce and foods like that. Today one of my favourite things to make is a tomato salad using ones fresh from the garden. The only thing I never changed my mind on was olives. I still loathe those but I also love to use olive oil when I cook.

More or less what Hedgehog_Mom said, though I don't think I have any food allergies per se, and I love mushrooms, always have .. but .. I have recently realized that though I was always a very adventurous eater (and really still consider myself so), I am now 'fussy' in that I avoid processed foods as much as possible, don't really trust most restaurants any more, won't eat plates of almost completely brown food, have to avoid soy (not an allergy but a medical thing), and like to grow my own or buy as close to organic as I can otherwise (and cook from scratch). I still like what I used to like but now I want them made differently I guess.
