There is no way I'm going eat this. I don't even like green peppers.

There's a restaurant in the Washington DC area that also has ultra hot wings. One of my boyfriend's friends tried one. He coated his lips with blue cheese dressing first. His voice sounded funny for a few days afterwards.

This is a coincidence. My wife did her residency in Buffalo in 1976 and right now she is making "Buffalo Hot Wings" for dinner. They never were made with Habinero chiles originally, but the four or five star sauce is enough to get your attention. As the story goes, the recipe was invented when a woman's son brought home some college buddies, they were hungry (What's new?) and all she had in her refrigerator was chicken wings, celery, and bleu cheese dressing.

The bleu cheese does help as an "antidote". Also, it doesn't hurt to have an iced cold bottle of Porter or Oatmeal stout.

I like spicy food, but this is goofy! What's the point? If something is that hot, I don't understand how one could enjoy it. Your food should be enhanced in flavor, and hot and spicy should have a bit of a kick, not erode one's throat and stomach! I wouldn't care to eat something that could potentially put me in the hospital. I believe I can come up with other ways to add excitement to my life!

I don't understand why people do this, either.

You get used to it. I mix wasabi, hot chinese mustard and chile hot sauce together for a dip. I rarely even get heartburn.
I won't even use ketchup anymore unless I mix hot sauce with it.

There are many people that love the many varieties of hot peppers. Pepper heat is measured in units called Scoville Heat Units (SHU). Bottled specialty hot pepper sauces are popular, even collectible and sell very well to these pepper people.

If I'm not crying by the time I've finished my third wing, the wings aren't hot enough.

I like the adventure of eating as hot/spicey a food as it can be made. There is one condition...it cannot touch my lips. OUCH!!! So I like boneless wings better....something I can eat with a fork.
