UPDATE: I didn't go food shopping as our parking lot here was like a huge sheet of ice. I ordered out. I had tilapia parmesean with spaghetti that the chef from Olivetto makes especially for me. DS had the bistro burger with fries. I got dulce de leche bread pudding, he got tiramisu. Thank God for delivery!

I eat beans and greens a lot. Wonderful dinner. I could live on these.

Spicy Chicken Stew

Dakbokkeumtang (Spicy braised chicken) recipe - Maangchi.com
Update:

I made this with variations. I added honey in place of the sugar, used an inch of fresh ginger and lessened the hot red pepper spice to one tablespoon. I used a tbsp of golden mountain seasoning sauce. It was really really delicious. Kids and husband had two helpings.

Default Dinner was on the island of Hawaii...

Dinner was on the island of Hawaii or better known as the "Big Island". I took advantage of the long weekend to visit my friend who lives in Mountain View which is a rural subdivision in the district of Puna. The whole island of Oahu could fit in Puna! LOL This is a picture of the road near my friend's home.

My friend is looking to buy a house in either the Volcano area or near the city of Hilo. This is an abandoned church we passed on the way to looking at different houses, probably built in the mid 1800s.As you can see the steeple is starting to crumble. Too bad, maybe the church can be saved by putting it on the national register of historic places. We stopped in the town of Pahoa (the town threatened by lava flows which has stalled) and had dinner at Kaleo's. I ordered my prime rib medium rare. It came out medium, but I didn't complain as it was still delicious juicy and delicious.

some hospital cafeterias have great food and usually at good prices.

last night I made a herb roasted chicken. Each girl had a drumstick and wing while we had breasts. I cooked it with potatoes, carrots and onions. We also had a wonderful winter salad with romain lettuce and fruits and my delicious homemade blue cheese dressing.

I will boil up the carcass for my own chicken broth to make chicken noodle soup for tomorrow. Girls are home AGAIN for the three snowflakes which fell Monday afternoon. Apparently the roads are slick and there is worry for buses, etc. So glad we went to the grocery store on Sunday and bought $110 worth of groceries. We could make it at least a full week if we had to.

it's 25 this morning with a high of 35 expected and more cold is coming. Thank Gawd we don't get too much weather like this.

I think that hospital just likes you, so they are giving you special food to keep you there. k

Now you tell us you work there, that is a relief, we were all wondering what was keeping you so long.
