We spent the late afternoon keeping my aunt company in the ER (she's fine; the nursing home was being cautious), and so neither felt like cooking. Little Caesar's to the rescue! Pepperoni pizza, $5.

My wife made a Greek pasta dish with pheasant. Very tasty. Lot's of wine, herbs, cinnamon, fennel, tomato and seasonings.

We ate it chilled. It was 102 here today.

Making a meat loaf and think I will have green beans and baby new potatoes. They really are baby, news. I got them at the farmers market a couple days ago and they are no bigger than my thumb nail or not much anyway. Of course I paid way too much for them. Some of the green beans are out of our garden. Our weather has been so weird, nothing is growing as well as usual and I didn't think I was getting any beans. Then yesterday I went out of water and low and behold: there they were, enough for about 1 meal. How many more I will get is anyone's guess.

Tonight we are having these sandwiches Sublime Oxford Sandwich Recipe - Allrecipes.com. I thought I would link it because I didn't know how to describe it. I love, love, love these. And yes that's my review, I am not clever enough to use different names!

110 here yesterday, over 100 again today so probably just cold chicken from the fridge. Might steam some veggies in the microwave if I'm not completely wilted by dinnertime.
