Well I had planned on just having hamburger stuffed with mushrooms and cheese, but decided to try and duplicate a receipe using hamburger someone brought to us when I had my knee replacement early this year. It had noodles, ground beef, tomatoes, onions and I am not sure what she used to bind it: maybe she used some tomato sause, but whatever it was really good and it sounds like something we had as a kid. Of course we will have green salad as well.
SO threw me a curve ball. Company and a busy day and a rather empty freezer.
Wings to tie the boys over. Pork tenderloin, fettuccini with lots of hot garden peppers and mushrooms, green salad with roasted tomatoes, peach pie with ice cream
It is so hot and humid...what to cook ...Tonight chilled cucumber and mint soup
cucumber,yogurt,sour cream,mustard,mint leaves,salt/black pepper..all blended
with tomato and cheese grilled toast
and for dessert chilled strawberry soup
strawberries,my homemade yogurt,buttermilk,orange juice,sugar,ground cardamon..all blended
Since it's going to be hot, an easy dinner tonight. Grilled chicken breasts with pesto, green beans, and probably a side salad. Maybe cucumber salad? We shall see.
The universe's most revered and worshipped child is home on leave from the Navy before he goes to Norfolk, VA for additional training. then off to Pearl Harbor for his last few years and I won't see him for some time, so he's hanging out with us today, taking us to lunch, and then we've told him we'd make his favorite dinner:
1 1/2" thick ribeyes on the grill
Baked potatoes
Roasted carrots
Corn on the cob
Crescent rolls
Chocolate cake, brownies, and ice cream or any combination thereof for dessert.
YAY - 45 more minutes until it's KID TIME!!!!!!!!!
