I have never used pressure cookers. I worry about the safety. I knew people who got seriously injured (became blind) when they didn't use it properly. But I'm sure it's very convenient and save a lot of time, in addition to gas.

Modern pressure cookers have multiple safety features. I have an electric one, and you cannot bring it up to pressure unless the lid is locked. They are fabulous; I made last night's beef stew in the pressure cooker.

I know someone who was badly injured with severe burns because of an exploding pressure cooker. But maybe the modern versions are safer. They scare me personally.

I just got an electric one. So excited. I made a lentil stew last night in less than 30 minutes including prep!
Does an average rice cooker, used once a day, each time 30-45 minutes, cause noticeable increase of the electricity bill?
I would worry about other appliances at your home than a rice cooker that you only used maybe once a day.
Blow dryers, SAT/cable boxes left on, old TVs, ceramic heaters, and halogen spot lights are some of the most energy inefficient devices.
Most people have no clue that their SAT/cable boxes not even turned on is eating 100-300watts steadily. Reason why I cut the cord because their boxes does nothing but eat electricity.
Halogen spot lights uses like 15-60watt and some folks have like 10-20 in a house, compared to my LED bulbs that only uses 9-11watts.
Then you got heaters that uses 1000-1500watts and people leave that thing running all day.

When I was a kid, my mom used one of those humongous metal pressure cooker for canning. Those did freak me out because the risk of exploding. Now she has one of those modern pressure cookers that don't look so scary and safer.
On the rice cooker... I'd imagine they don't take much electricity. I have a small one that cooks a small batch in roughly 45 minutes
