I wanted to sneak some sauteed mushrooms on top of the steak and add cherry pie ala mode for the dessert.

Default What would be your absolute last meal?

Oftentimes people say they would not be hungry in such a scenario, but let's use some imagination. You are condemned to die the next day in a state facility and you are given the choice of any last meal of your choosing with unlimited expense. What would you choose?

This is a tough question to answer, but I'll go for it.

I would begin with a romaine salad with Maytag bleu cheese dressing, crumbled soft boiled eggs and almond slivers
A small snifter of Hennessy XO
Ahi Poke and steak tartare
Steamed moi (fish)
Fried rice and Fried spam
A big ribeye steak medium rare
Haricot verts
A few mangoes
Coconut cream pie
Malasadas
Then two bottles of Hennessy XO. Assuming I'm going to die by a firing squad tomorrow.

I couldn't possibly come up with a full menu. But we had a plum tree in our backyard growing up, and it yielded so much fruit I got sick of plums for the longest, longest, longest time. Now, decades later, far away from the old house, for my last meal I'd at least want one of those sweet, cold, succulent plums dripping down my lips and chin.

Hee hee. I also responded on Dec 18, 2009. I see threads were merged.

Back then I said:

T-bone steak
King crab legs w/ garlic butter
Baked potato
Corn on the cob
Salad with bleu cheese
Steamed asparagus
Bread sticks
An ice cold beer or two

As you can see I love surf and turf, salads, bleu cheese, corn on the cob, and baked potatoes! I really love asparagus but left it off in the 2012 edition of this thread.

Chopped Salad with crumbled gorgonzola and bleu cheese (Outback makes a really good one like this)

A Thanksgiving plate - roasted turkey, creamy mashed potatoes with lots of butter and gravy, stuffing, mashed yams with crumb topping, homemade orange-cranberry sauce, green beans with slivered almonds, and a roll.

Dessert: Warm blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream and a white dessert wine

Sorry, didn't you get the memo?

Earlier this year the Texas Prison Board ended the tradition of granting last meal requests to the condemned. So now you are just going to get what everybody else is getting.

And for tonight that will be:

Meatloaf. At least I think that's meat...
Mac & cheese, using only the finest US Government surplus cheese.
Stewed green beans, fresh from the can
White bread, white margarine
Red gelatin
Blue flavored drink

Bon appetit!
