Yes. Buried in a pit barbecue, underground until it was falling apart. A wild pig from a family hunter. It was delicious.

I've eaten domestic pig cooked the same way and it was also delicious. A great huge chunk of beef cooked that way was superb.

I've even eaten wild boar in the Bahamas. My uncle and cousins would take their boat to a small island and hunt them. I remember them boiling or steaming the hair off one with it hanging over a huge cast iron kettle in their yard. In south Texas wild hogs are a big problem. I've hunted them and javelina here in years past.

Yes--"wild boar". It's really feral hog--wild boar just sounds better .

I've eaten it in a stew cooked over an open firepit. Absolutely delicious.

I've not had it, but I bet it tastes like pork, not chicken!

Tastes better if its roasted on the beach... which reminds me of Elvis in Blue Hawaii

I'd like it to try it. My dad in WW2 in New Guinea mentioned having it occasionally. The rations were poor quality and a group of them would periodically go hunting for wild boar. He mentioned the .45 caliber worked best at dropping them as the standard issue rifles had little stopping power.
