Bit into a coriander seed by accident*. Tasted as if someone put a strong/foul chemical on my tongue. And not just a little- alot. And the chemical/mettalic taste lingered. It was beyond dreadful.
*Those things should never have even been served with the meal to begin with, but they were. Not cute.
What's interesting/odd is that I'm able to tolerate coriander leaves (in Spanish it's called cilantro) but the seeds, OMG Imagine the worst smelling chemical, multiply it by 5 and the imagine it on your tongue filling up your whole mouth - and not just for a minute but even 10 minutes after. Dreadful.
My worst food experience? Being presented with an octopus cake at a party in Tokyo. I was expected to eat it on the spot. Since it was billed as a "cake," I expected it to be sweet. Instead, what I perceived as an icing-like glaze was actually fish paste. This party food was essentially a savory biscuit with hunks of octopus meat dotting it.
It wouldn't have tasted good to me under any circumstances, but expecting it to be sweet and in fact getting something quite sour in my mouth added insult to injury. Picture thinking you're taking a drink of water and instead it's half-and-half ... times 100. AND I felt I had to pretend to like it since it was supposedly made special to honor me and my fellow guests from America. If they were expecting us to spit it out because we hated it (maybe a Japanese idea of a prank?), we didn't give them the satisfaction. I ate more than one thing in Japan I never want to eat again. Some good stuff, though.
Sounds like the TV show Laverne and Shirley. Shirley loved to drink milk and Pepsi. Never heard of this in real life though.
When I was a kid in Northern California, I don't know how or why, but I would make this drink with my sister. We called it "Koolaid Surprise," and it was cherry Koolaid, coke, and milk. SO GROSS. lol. No clue what possessed me to come up with, let alone ingest, such a nasty thing.

Lol, I was going to mention that, too. Wasn't sure if anyone would remember.
