Anyone else love this? Paskha - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

They only sell it in the shops here at this time of year so I eat it almost every day while I've got the chance, especially the white chocolate version they have (yeah not traditional but its lush)

If you don't eat Pashka, what special foods do you eat at Easter/Springtime?

I've never made it, but I used to work with someone who would make it and bring it into the office for Easter. Very yummy.

Growing up, my mom would always pickle eggs for Easter, and our church would sell these homemade butter cream eggs that were the bomb! My intake of those was strictly monitored - only allowed to have 1 small slice daily. When I was young, our Easter meal was a lot like Thanksgiving and Christmas - turkey, ham, stuffing, etc. DH's family always had lamb. For our joint family, our Easter meal changed a lot but we would often have an Eastern European theme. The meal would usually include dishes with eggs, beets and pierogies.

English here, our traditional Easter goodies include Simnel Cake which is a rich fruit cake layered with marzipan (almond paste). We also have hot cross buns, a sweet bread with a cross on the top. Traditionally toasted and served with lots of butter.

I used to have hot cross buns sometimes back in England. Yum.

In my family we'd always have soft boiled eggs with toast soldiers to dip in them on Easter morning.

That Easter egg bread looks interesting. I was given one of those coloured eggs by a Cypriot family one year when they came round for Easter lunch. Still have it and it rattles now when I shake it.

Ukrainians also have babka as well as ***** (for some reason CD censored the Ukrainian spelling of pashka).
Easter Bread, or Ukrainian Babka Recipe - The Kitchen Magpie

Before Easter they also have parts of the meal blessed (what a great feast and aroma from those baskets).

Natsku my mother used to make P a s k a or Pascha when I was as a child at family gatherings.
Pinch of Cinnamon | Spicy stories and recipes from around the world: Pascha (Russian Easter cheesecake)
also she used to make Kulich
http://allrecipes.com/recipe/kulich-...n-easter-cake/
and traditional German braided sweet Easter bread
https://cookpad.com/en/recipes/15589...f-german-bread

Myself I tried to make the P a s k a and Kulich ( quite a bit of work ) but my family does not care much for it,but they love the braided bread.

Funny the word ***** is blocked out so I have to write it like this Pa s k a
