I don't care for the texture of peel, especially russet. They also have a way of making a potato salad look "dirty" I think, with the exception of red potatoes. So I always peel russets, if not making a baked potato recipe like oven fries, for the rest it would depend on the recipe.

Somehow I have no trouble eating russet peels if a restaurant has left some potato on there and loaded on plenty of sour cream, green onions, andn bacon... hmmm, I don't get it..

This is a good read, and is a recipe which includes the potato peel!

The only option not included is "Exactly 50.000% of the time", which I thought was improbable.

If you usually make potato recipes that you peel, respond "Usually". If you usually make a recipes in which you leave the skin on, respond "Not usually".

I love red potatoes. I don't usually peel them. One potatoe I detest is Yukon gold. I find them mushy and gross tasting.

For my own preferences I never peel them. But usually the kids preferred smooth, creamy mashed potatoes with a little milk and no skin.

There is no "usually". It completely depends upon the dish I am making. I could not tell you how many of each kind I make over a period of time - LOL! I would have selected an option that stated "depends on the dish".

It's not the taste I object to, it's the texture- when I eat mashed potatoes or potato salad with skins, it's like trying to choke down little wads of wet paper.

Then everybody would have checked that option, and we'd know nothing, would we?

Really? You cannot estimate, over the past year or two, whether you more frequently made a meal using peeled or unpeeled potatoes? Not the exact number, but you can't even ballpark it? I guess I overestimated my respondents.

I peel them for everything except baked potato. Even then I don't eat the baked skins, just the potato inside. The skins are either papery or leathery. No thanks.

Seriously - OP you don't have to take this personally!! - as stated many of us can't say "usually" or whatever... let it go.
