Some tofu is good some isn't, I never thought I would like soy milk but it's all I drink at breakfast now.

Well that is true. I tend to put us all under one umbrella . As long as no animal was killed in the process - barring accidents on the farm.

Miso which is made of fermented soy beans has very good health benefits. Japanese eat it all the time.

Soy is used in soy sauce, many sports protein powders, and used in many snacks and as binders in foods. You are eating soy and just don't realize how much stuff has soy out there.

I don't eat tofu because it stinks, tastes like YUCK and its nutritional-profile pales in comparison to most meats.

What's the saying? .... "tofu is delicious, so long as whatever you cook it in is delicious."

I've heard of some women at risk for breast cancer may be under doctor's orders to cut back or eliminate it from their diets. One friend who was ordered as such (don't think this was due to breast cancer risk) ended up quitting vegetarianism since it was difficult enough to maintain it without soy, and her husband is non-vegetarian, so it made cooking easier.

So he is a vegetarian. There is no such thing as a vegan who consumes dairy and egg products.

Exactly.

Soy has been used for hundreds of years by other cultures and it's health benefits are well known. In my family nobody has had breast cancer of any sort and soy is a staple.

If there aren't any FDA warnings about soy, so those claims out there against soy are propaganda.

I've never heard that myth, I just don't eat it because it doesn't look very appetizing, never even tried it.

I don't know where I got this idea, but I thought it was pretty much tasteless and you had to flavour it. True?

I do love soy sauce though!

What a moron that guy was. I'm male and I eat tofu all the time (not huge amounts, but fairly regularly). I also eat soy-based faux meat products once in a while. My libido is as strong as it has ever been .

I love the texture of tofu, especially silken tofu. Its flavor works very well in a spicy curry as a contrast against the sauce.

Anyone who strongly dislikes tofu has either never tried it, or hasn't cooked it appropriately. When I was in college, the cafeteria used to serve sliced, cold tofu - straight out of the package - topped with jarred teriyaki sauce and canned pineapple. Now THAT is barf-worthy!

The only tofu I dislike is thawed frozen tofu - the texture is far too spongy for my taste. I also don't care for deep-fried tofu for the same reason.
