All except banana peppers and jalapenos. The only sandwich I ever order is roast beef or turkey breast.

Its rare when I eat at subway. The times I do, I always choose spinach over lettuce since its a much healthier option.

Lettuce, tomato, and giardiniera (Chicagoland only)...I haven't been there since I moved away because all I get is the Italian BMT, and an Italian sandwich without Chicago style giardiniera is bland.

DH and I are retired and take frequent long and short road trips, usually on back roads and through small towns. I couldn't tell you how many times Subway has kept us from starving. Often it is the ONLY place open within miles. We do lots of hiking and picnics and we love that you can go to most Subways at 7:30 AM and they will happily make and wrap lunch sandwiches in plastic bags to go and we just throw them in the cooler. Several times they've even thrown in a few cups of ice, gratis, for our small cooler.

That said, I'm a huge fan of olives, spinach, cucumbers, and, most important, all varieties of peppers except green/bell. We avoid tomatoes -and mayo- because they don't travel well (make the sandwiches soggy), and we really don't see the point of bell peppers or iceberg lettuce. What type meat or bread doesn't really matter if you have an abundance of those good veggies.

That's funny, the peppers are my fave Subway veggie! The tomatoes are so unreliable, or reliably bad. Need the lettuce for crunch too.

This thread makes me crave a spicy italian with peppers, lettuce, onion, olives, pepperoncinis, and spicy mustard!

Red onion, spinach, cucumber and banana peppers, no matter what kind of sub. I like the crunch.

Only problem.. some Subways don't have all those ingredients
There's about 3 near me and I know one of them doesn't have spinach. Some don't have cucumbers or red onion or the red and green peppers.

When you're in the mood for one or the other, it's kinda hard to remember which one of the Subways to go to.

It really depends on what kind of sandwich I get and what I'm in the mood for when I go. Generally I will have them put lettuce, tomato, onion, green pepper and banana peppers on my sandwiches. Sometimes I switch out the lettuce for spinach. Very occasionally I'll get jalapenos. Never get olives, pickles or cucumbers. Blech.

i'm surprised the most popular vegetable is the tomato (technically a fruit i guess). i would think it would be lettuce because of how versatile it is.
