I don't usually. And I'm trying to figure out what is the right thing to do. I don't like most of their food, but when I want ice cream late at night, that's where I head.

In the homeland, we have Stewart's Rootbeer, and they will come to your window, take your order and then bring you your meal. They also check back with you to see if you need anythign further. At Sonic you order into a speaker and they just drop off the food.

I tip at Starbucks where I'm a regular and when I have cash on me, but there's a communal tip jar and I know that everyone behind the counter will split it, not just the cashier or the person who hands me my drink.

So I dunno. This drives me crazy.

The rare times I have stopped at Sonic for one of their frozen drinks on a really hot summer day I have always tipped the person who brought the drink to our vehicle.

Yes.. However, they make it difficult, because they don't allow you to tip on a CC purchase. I rarely carry cash, so that makes it difficult.

I asked someone who worked there about it one time, and they said it's about 50/50 as to whether they get tipped.

Apparently because the last time I went, the kid stood there with his hand open after he handed me my food.

Yeah, I never pay for anything with cash, either.
