Regular soft drinks do not have chemicals?

Well, sometimes people like to have some junk food. A lot of us drink water but for those who must drink soda, may as well make it a bit healthier than it usually is. Stevia would be an improvement.

So they remove aspartame in favor of adding two artificial sweeteners: Sucralose and acesulfame K.

As with everything,.moderation is the key.

We seem to be skipping over the fact that Diet Pepsi already tastes like malted battery acid.

I can handle Diet Coke, though it isn't my favorite.. But I don't overly care for either Pepsi or Diet Pepsi.

Mello Yello Zero or Diet Mountain Dew.. Not bad. I can't particularly tell that either of those are diet.

But, honestly.. On the rare occasion where I drink soda.. I generally get the full calorie ones. I will spring for the 'throwbacks' with real sugar when available.. Or something from Jones Soda.

Honestly, when they put me on Topamax a few years back for migraines.. It changes the taste of soda.. I stopped drinking them and rarely do now.

avoid all sweetners, natural or otherwise. Your body is better off without. I've been tapering off for a while. I mix my coke with seltzer and my sweet tea with unsweet tea.

It's the most expensive artificial sweetener and a low, but significant percentage of people who consume it experience a metallic aftertaste that lingers for hours.

Speaking of battery acid.

My 77 year old neighbor told me she, for some reason, loved a coke
around bedtime...then, she landed in a hospital , turns out it gave her an ulcer.
First thing they gave her when she recovered was Pepsi...
Telling her if a Coke truck turns over on the highway they send in HazMat.

Yes, I figured stevia was too much $ ...and I have heard the same thing of
the metallic complaint...I'm not one of them.

I think its because THEY WANT PPL HAVING ISSUES so they need big pharma!! ($$$$$$$) its a big scheme.......

Of course they do. But soda isn't meant to be a staple beverage that is consumed by the gallons. When it first came it out it was a treat every once in awhile.

Is there any scientific evidence that aspartame isn't perfectly safe? I hope it is perfectly safe, because I've drunk enough to kill an elephant. I actually like Diet Coke better than any soft drink that has sugar. Not so much to avoid sugar, but mostly just because I like it better. Whenever it's on sale for 88 cents per 2 liter bottle, I stock up on it.
